Asa D. Patterson, 89, died Thursday March 28, 1935 at his home four miles south of Pickens. He was a veteran of the Civil war, having been a member of the Union forces.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his widow, Mrs. Amanda Curtis Patterson; nine sons, James Walter, Robert Pearson, William Alford (Tate), Mack, Malgrom Kenneth, Asa David, John, Howard Taft and Hamlin Patterson; two daughters, Mrs. Ola Harbin and Mrs. Janie Crow, and 27 grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from Rice's Creek Baptist church at 11 o'clock Friday morning March 29, 1935 by the Rev. H. A. Newton.
Interment followed in West View cemetery at Liberty.
Pallbearers: Elbert, John, Sam, Frank, Henry and Redmond Brooks.

Asa D. Patterson was born on Wednesday March 25, 1846, in Pickens County, Georgia, to Hicks Kelly and Sarah Anne "Sallie" Townsend Patterson, his father, Hicks, was 29 and his mother, Sarah, was 29. He married Cyntha Ann Ray March 18, 1869 in Pickens County, Georgia.
Together they had two children: James Walter Patterson and Leolar "Ola" Beatrice Patterson.
After Cyntha died he then married Florence Amanda (Brooks) Haney, March 1889 in Fingerville, SC together they had nine children, Robert Pearson, William Alford, Maggie Jane "Janie", Mack M., Malgrom Kenneth, Asa David, John T., Howard "Pat", and Hamblin. He died on Thursday March 28, 1935, in Pickens County, South Carolina, at the age of 89, and was buried at West View Cemetery in Liberty, South Carolina.

1st married Cynthia (Cinthia) Ann Ray March 18, 1869
Together they had two children:
James Walter Patterson and
Leolar "Ola" Beatrice Patterson
2nd married Florence Amanda Haney Brooks March 1889 at Fingerville, SC was married to her at the time of his death.
This Asa did not marry a Adeline Head.
Have not found any records, marrage license, census, etc. that shows they were ever married. If you have any documentation showing a marriage please contact me.
