J.H Sarver of Freeport dies at 86
A resident of the Sarver-Freeport area for his entire life, James Harvey Sarver, 86, of Mill St., Freeport died at 2:50 a.m. yesterday (May 1, 1966) in Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington.
His death is attributed to infirmities of age. Mr. Sarver had been ill for the past six monthsand was admitted to the hospital about one week ago.
He was born Oct. 31, 1879, in Sarver to William and Isabelle Simmers Sarver. In 1944 he was retired by Freeport Brick Co.
His wife, Carrie died in February, 1957.
Mr. Sarver was a member of the Methodist Church.
He is survived by nine sons: Chester, William, Harry, Francis, Floyd, Charles, at home; Matthew, South Buffalo Township; Thomas, Long Island, N.Y.; and Howard, Erie; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Sarah) Moore, Freeport, and Mrs. Eugene (Margaret) Slater, Millerstown; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a brother, Mell Sarver of Cabot.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the John R. Cherry Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport, where service at 2 tomorrow afternoon will be in charge of the Rev. Jack Ammon, pastor of Freeport Methodist Church. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Sarversville.
