Son of Frank and Katerina (Aiuto) Cusenza of San Vito La Capo, Sicily (although passports say Mount San Guilano, Sicily). Where his family worked in the vinyards and orchards. The family were known for their skill at grafting the vines to create better fruit or grapes.

Tony came to the U.S. in 1911 with his father and brothers Paolo and Rossario. They worked at the Ford Plant in Detroit. Tony was a machinist. After living in the Detroit area, he served in World War I.
Upon return, he lived in Ashly, Gratiot County, where he met and married Vadnew Hammond in 1922, where Kate and Frank were born. The Hammond family were pioneers of Gratiot County. While Kate was young the family moved on a farm on Marathon Rd., Otter Lake, Lapeer Co.
Then on to Genesee.
Always a farmer, Tony also worked at the Buick Plant, in Flint, Michigan til he died.

He and Vadnew had ten children:
Katherine Casenza - Lewis
Frank B. Cusenza
Ollie and Ross, twins (died in infancy)
Johan and John Twins (Died at birth)
John B. Cusenza
Yvonne Cusenza
Toni Cusenza - McGinnis
Rita Cusenza - Eastlick

He was preceded in death by two sets of twins, Ross and Ollie who died in infancy in 1925 and Johan and John who died shortly after birth in 1929.

Tony died of lung cancer.
