Stratford - Joseph L. Hoffmann, 81, a former Town of Eau Pleine farmer, died Saturday morning at Trinity Memorial Hospital in Cudahy, where he had been a patient for the past month. Prior to that time he has been at the home of his son, Lawrence Hoffmann, Cudahy.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Udulutch officiating. Burial will be made in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Sauter Funeral Home until time of services. A parish rosary will be said this evening at 8 o'clock.
Joseph Hoffmann was born February 11, 1879, in Unity. His marriage to Elizabeth Meyer took place in Stratford July 7, 1902. They operated a farm in the town of Eau Pleine for a number of years. His wife died Nov. 16, 1952. After his retirement he made his home with his children.
The survivors are six daughters, Mrs. Adam Hein, Marshfield, Mrs. Arnold Unglaub, South Milwaukee, Mrs. Ted Ramel and Mrs. Leo Lesch, both of Cudahy; Mrs. Harold Treader, Jefferson; and Mrs. Merlin Miller, Milwaukee; three sons, Jerome, Marshfield; Lawrence, Cudahy; Archie, South Milwaukee; 32 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
