Former Auxiliary for the Archdiocese of Eger, Hungary, and Bishop of the Titular See of Media, Monsignor Endre Kovács O.Cist., was until his demise, one of the only six living Cistercian Monks to be elevated to the Episcopate.

Bisho Kovács retained his post as an Auxiliary until his retirement at the age of 75, on January 15, 2003. He passed away in Eger at the age of 79, on Sunday, July 29, 2007, and was interred in the Crypt of Eger's Cathedral.
