James Fletcher lived a long full life. A Civil War vetern from the IL infantry. He nearly died of dysentary while a soldier, requesting cabbage & vinager as a last meal, he made a miraculous recovery and always said the cabbage saved his life. After the Civil War he lost his right arm when a shotgun in his buggy accidently discharged. He lived the rest of his life with this disability, but it never slowed him down.
