Corporal Grady Beacham was a member of the Metropolitan Police Department in Washington, DC.

Corporal Beacham, of the Ninth Precinct, and two other officers, responded to a domestic call in which a female reported that the armed suspect barricaded himself in the bedroom. One officer covered the rear and Corporal Beacham and another kicked open the bedroom door. Corporal Beacham was met with a shotgun blast to the chest and died instantly. His partner, Harvey Womble (Memorial number 65652710), returned fire and killed the suspect, Robert Wilkerson.
Corporal Beacham, survived by his wife, Ester Bee Tillett Beacham and daughter, Ina Lynn (11 years old) was buried in Kitty Hawk,(Dare County, the Outer Banks) North Carolina.
Corporal Beacham had made his home at 4300 N. 18th Street, Arlington, Virginia.
