Francis was born on April 1, 1923, in Peoria, the son of Frank and Maude Morris Reliford. He married Glenita Elwyn in Peoria on March 10, 1972. She survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Francis (Lori) Reliford of Peoria, David (Vicki) Reliford of Metamora, Stephen (Judee) Reliford of Elk Grove, Calif., Ronald (Corinna) Reliford of East Peoria and Roger (Sandra) Reliford of Chillicothe; one daughter, Carolyn (Sanford) Farkash of Peoria; two stepsons, Charles (Nancy) Elwyn of East Peoria and Gary (Andrea) Elwyn of Bowie, Md.; one stepson-in-law, Terry Robbins of Washburn; 25 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, six sisters and one stepdaughter, Pat Robbins.
Francis worked for the Peoria Journal Star as a truck driver for 33 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at The Wilton Mortuary. The Rev. Howard Love will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Mount Hawley Cemetery .
