Byron L. Boatman, 57, of Sycamore died Aug. 31, 1987, at Sycamore hospital.
He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Bridgeport, the son of Aden and Ruth (Craig) Boatman. He married MaryAnn Petrie in 1952 in Sycamore.
He owned and operated Boatman's TV Service in Sycamore since 1969 and he was previously employed at the J.V. Patten Co. in Sycamore for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, MaryAnn of Sycamore; one son Byron Jr. (Deon) Boatman of Rockford; one daughter, Kathy (Roy) Cockfield of Hemingway, S.C.; four grandchildren; two brothers, Donald (Dorothy) Boatman of Lawrenceville and Ivan Boatman of Bridgeport; three sisters, Betty Jean Graham of Bridgeport, Carolyn (Ronnie) Senters of Herrin and Reda (Robert) Larch of Rinard; one sister-in-law, Della Boatman of Malta; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold; and two sisters, Lucille and Mildred in infancy.
The funeral services was Sept. 3, 1987, at the First Baptist Church in Sycamore with the Rev. Stephen Persson officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Sycamore.
A memorial has been established for Byron L. Boatman in care of the Butala-VanNatta Funeral Home in Sycamore.
