Jesse Barker - Arrived in Stephen F. Austin's 4th Colony in December 1833. The records show his wife Malinda and 3 male and 1 female children. He was 38 years and his wife Malinda was 23. It is noted that he "took the oath"
Jesse and Malinda had 9 children and in 1845 Malinda died giving birth to their daughter Amanda Barker.

On November 3rd,1845 Jesse Barker married Emily Johnson (daughter of Col. Chauncey Johnson) in Bastrop,Texas.
Jesse Barker died February 5th of 1846 leaving young Emily a widow and unknow to Jesse was with child. Emily gave birth to a son, Leman Chancellor Barker in September 1st 1846.

Shows where R.M. Coleman Col. in the Texian Army wrote the order to the Government of the Republic of Texas to pay Jesse Barker $25 and his Honorable Discharge from the Volunteer Rangers.
