OKOLONA – Johnnie Bray, 77, died suddenly Thursday, June 23, 2011, at Golden Living Center in Amory. She was born December 12, 1933 in Kennedy, Ala. to Raymond Allen and Addine Hankins Stevens. She lived in Okolona for 10 years before moving to Houston in 2003. Johnnie was a member of Okolona Christian Church of Okolona. She was the owner/operator of Johnnies beauty shop in Alvin, Texas. She enjoyed needlepoint, drinking coffee, watching Westerns and collecting dishes and ceramic birds.

Services are 3 p.m. Monday, June 27, 2011, at Holland Funeral Directors, Okolona Chapel with Rev. Kevin Crestman officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park.

Visitation is 5pm-8pm Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the funeral Home.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy King (Kim) of Canton, Mich.; god daughter, Leigh Ann Graves of Okolona; three brothers, Earl Stevens (Lazette) of Amory, Fred Stevens (Childs) of Okolona and Mark Stevens (Sharon) of Houston; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Stevens of Van Vleet; a brother-in-law, Gary Reed of Fulton; two aunts, Eloise Parker of Okolona and Margie Owings of Demopolis, Ala.; an uncle, Charles Hankins; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Jeffrey Bray and Steven Bray; a brother, Harold Stevens; and two sisters, Betty Reed and Mary Beth McCharen

Pallbearers are Dean Stevens, Ashley Stevens, Andy Stevens, John Taylor Stevens, Bryan Bray, Paul Thomas, Walter Henry and Dennis Dunn.
