O.L. Alexander, 78, retired Breckenridge businessman died at Stephens Memorial Hospital. He had been in failing health since 1958.
He moved with his family to Indian Territory in 1895.
O.L. Alexander married Maude Merrill in 1908 at Hartshorne, Oklahoma. The couple moved to Hugo, Oklahoma and lived there until 1915 when they moved to Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. Alexander moved to Breckenridge in 1921. They owned Alexander, Inc, an ice and dairy products company until his retirement. He was a 35 year member of the Lions Club in Breckenridge. A former director of the Breckenridge Chamber of Commerce, he served on the Breckenridge school board. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a lifetime member of the Breckenridge Masonic Lodge and Blue Lodge. He belonged to the Scottish Rite bodies at Dallas and the Hela Temple Shrine Club at Dallas.
He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife; one daughter - Mrs. Virginia Dockery of Breckenridge; one son - John H. of Harlingen; two brothers - Jim and Frank of Tecumseh, OK; one sister - Alice Alexander of Tecumseh, OK; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
