Funeral services for Elbert Wilson Alsup, 72, were held Friday in First Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Becknal, pastor, and Ed Jones, minister of Hamilton Street Church of Christ, officiating. He died February 2 in a local hospital.
Alsup was born March 2, 1911, in Olney and had lived in the Olney-Archer City area. He and Mildred McCauley were married December 5, 1973 in Olney.
He was a retired dry cleaner and a member of the National Guard, Masonic Lodge and the Men's Downtown Bible Class.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Nancy Clink, Johnnie Martinez and Glenda Clink, all of Nampa, Idaho; two step-daughters, Carolyn Harwell of Ballinger and Linda Dodd of Early; two step-sons, Wayne McCauley of Choctaw, Okla., and Joe McCauley of Whitesboro; one sister, Lillian Carruth of Olney; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
