Minnie Ola Butler was born Nov. 13, 1900 at Mansfield TX she was the daughter of Alexander and Della Miller Capp
After her mothers death she moved to Lakeview with her father and siblings.
On Aug 6 1921 she married Freeman B. Butler at Lakeview. They established a home on a farm near Lakeview, where they raised their three sons.
They later owned and operated a motel in Shamrock before retiring and moving to Lelia Lake to farm again, later moving to Clarendon where they celebrated their Golden anniversary in Aug. 1971.
After her husband's death on July 28, 1973 Minnie moved to Ottawa KS to be with her son Lee and his family. She made her home at 918 S Hickory until a broken hip caused her to be moved to Crestview Nursing Home in Jan. 1984.
Mrs Butler is survived by three sons F.A. of Lane Ks Delbert and wife Patricia of Dalhart TX Lee and his wife June of Ottawa. One brother John Capp and wife Mattie of OK City OK Three sisters Mrs Lottie Worley Portales NM, Mrs Loretta Scoggins & husband Jim of Morton TX Mrs Eula Taylor of Los Lumas, NM Six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. besides her husband she was preceded in death by a brother Vernon Capp and a sister Mrs Mary Ashcraft. Her favorite pastime was making quilts and it pleased her to give them to her family, each newly wed and each new baby always had a custom made quilt. Affectionaly called "Granny Minnie" she will be sadly missed but will live on in the memory of those who knew and loved her.
Funeral service at Lakeview Baptist Church Lakeview TX Wed. Sept. 30, 1987 at 2 pm Casket bearers were her 3 grandsons and 3 grandson-in-law
