On Jan 4, 1874 he married Louisa Jane Elkins they had two more sons William and John Thomas. Jimmie and Jane moved their family to Texas in 1880 along with his former in-laws the Shipleys. Jane died in Hall Co and is buried in the Lakeview cemetery. Jimmie was with an older sister
in Dallas Co when he fell off the back of a moving truck and was killed. He had been recieving a pension from his war service.
