Irving Burial Set for Ex-Resident, Mrs. R. A. Foster
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Missionary Baptist Church of Alex, Okla., for Mrs. R. A. Foster, 81, former Dallas resident, who died Thursday morning at her home in Alex, after a long illness. She was the mother of Mrs. Drusilla L. Shipp of 2418 North Haskell and Mrs. Leonard A. Cook, 6921 Lindsley.
She will be buried in the Old Kit Cemetery, Irving.
Mrs. Foster was born in Fayetteville, Tenn., and came to Texas in 1886 wtih her parents, who settled in Wise County. She came to Dallas in 1923 and lived here for four years before moving to Olahoma.
Mrs. Foster taught public school in Wise, Tarrant and Dallas Counties and gave private lessons in music and expression.
Survivors besides her daughters include her husband; six sons, Coleman Foster of Los Angeles, Calif., Willie Foster of Hooven, Ohio, Wakefield Foster of Port Arthur; Eugene Foster and Thomas Foster of Houston, and Hague Foster of El Paso; one othe daughter, Eugenia Fosterof Alex; twenty three grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
The pallbearers, all granchildren of Mrs. Foster, will be Brownie Jones, Hartsell Shipp, Tommie Ransom, Clark Foster, Hague Foster Jr and Gary Foster.
