William was the son of William and Hepzibeth Fallass. William's great grandfather, William Fallass, was the Fallass ancestor who had immigrated from England.
William received only $200 from his grandfather's will, and this he thought unfair, as he was the only male heir and he had lived much of the time as a boy in his grandfather's home.
William and Hannah moved from Mass. to Nelson, Madison Co., N.Y., where they lived 12 years and where most of their children were born. In 1816 they moved to Dryden Twp., Tompkins Co., N.Y., where they lived until 1839, when they followed their children to Vergennes, Kent Co., Mich.
The children of William and Hannah, married May 19, 1802, were: a baby daughter (Feb. 14, 1803-Feb. 15, 1803); William (b. Jan. 29, 1804); Eunice (b. Apr. 14, 1806); Silas Stone (May 16, 1809-Feb. 1, 1896); John Wesley (Apr. 16, 1812-Sept. 7, 1891); Betsey (b. Oct. 7, 1814-Nov. 11, 1888); Arad Melvin (May 3, 1817-Oct. 10, 1835); and Sally (May 23, 1822-July 22, 1822).
