George Long 111 was a Baptist preacher, the son of Maples Long, one of 15 children, who settled in Greene Co from the state of AR. he marriel Elizabeth Lindsey,he served in the civil war and was captured by the confrediate troops after being wounded, he later served as chaplin, he started Rose Hill Baptist Church in 1876 and donated land for a new chutch and cemetery in 1888,(Where Rose Hill Church ) now stands, he helped start several Baptist churches in Mo. and Arkansas.
On April 27 2010 the youngest son of his youngest daughter Burl Hall was laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery, there are still at least 40 decendents of George still attending Rose Hill Church.
In addition to the children listed below he is also the father of David L Long, and a daughter Delilah (Long)Raper
