Jacob & his wife are buried in the family cemetery, in Fannin County. It is reported that tombstones mark their
graves. Jacob Long owned a large farm which was located west of Bonham, Texas, on the Bonham-Whitewright road. During 1900 he visited kinspeople in McMinn Co., Tennessee,
so his death occurred after that time.
The funeral services were held at the house, Sunday afternoon at 3:o'clock. There was a large crowd of friends & relatives there to pay their last respects to the
deceased. Jacob was laid to rest in the old family graveyard on his home place.
Mr. Long was a good man, he came to the state about 65 years ago. Sixty-two years ago, he joined the Baptist Church and has been a member of the church ever since. Rebekah, his wife, died nearly twenty years before he
died. He leaves behind several children to mourn his loss; Mrs. Raymond Thomas, who lives on the old home place; John Long of Weatherford, and B. Long of Paris, &
another daughter whose name is unknown. Mr. Long's life
was one of usefulness & he will long be remembered by many close friends.

for in a very long time.
