Albertina Schlawin was born July 20, 1851 in Pommern, Germany. She was married to Henry Fredrick William Lemke on Nov. 5, 1874. The Lemke family came to this country in 1883, and settled on a farm in Liberty Township, where they lived for seven yeaars. After this they removed to Hayfield where they had purchased a farm and lived on the same for six years. There upon they came to Garner, where they resided ever since. To this union eleven children were born. Of these, three died in childhood. Albertina change her church which she grew up in from the German Lutheran church of Germany to the Methodist Episcopal church of Garner.
Mrs. Lemke passed away, just as she lived, very, peacefully at the age of 84 years..
Interment to be in Concord Cemetery besides the remains of her husband.
