The Bedford Gazette, Friday, February 8, 1901, Vol. 96, Page 1, Hubert Cessna.
CENTREVILLE, February 6-Death has claimed one of our promising young men in the person of Hubert Cessna, who was aged twenty years and one month. Some six years ago he was thrown from a horse and injured on the back of the head. It was thought at the time that he could not recover, but after lingering for some weeks he began to improve and he was thought to be sound and well. He was taken with grip on Tuesday night at Grandmother Hafer's wake and started for home. He became unconscious shortly after arriving home and remained so until death relieved him Thursday afternoon, January 30. He was an honest, hard working young man. The remains were laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery on Saturday, Rev. G. S. Beane officiating. He leaves to mourn their loss an aged father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Cessna, five brothers and three sisters-Benton, of near Ellersie, Md; John, of Mt. Savage, Md.; Charles, of Johnstown; Harry, of Ohio; Edgar, of Braddock; Mrs. William Gillum, of near Cumberland, Md.; Mrs. Grant Jamison, of Hyndman, and Mrs. J. H. Warmuth, in the valley.
