Birth: Jan. 17, 1747
Lancaster County
New Jersey, USA
Death: Jun. 29, 1816

Pennsylvania, USA

Most of the data on Barnhart Clever's lineage is from a privately publish ed book by my cousin, Donald Goodhart Clever, Sr., entitled, "My Ancestor s: The Goodharts and Clevers of Cumberland County, Pennsylvania", 1966. T his book indicates that Barnhart Clever was born in New Jersey and that h is father's name was William, not Michael. However, the records of Rev. J ohn Casper Stoever clearly indicate his father's name was Michael and t he family resided in Swatara, PA.
During the Rev. War, Barnhart ("Barney") was a private in the 4th Co ., 3rd Battalion of Cumberland Co. He was a farmer after settling in Sout hampton Twp, Cumberland Co, PA. The family home was named "Mansion Far m" (240 acres), also called Mansion Estate.
