Rexford D. Bucher, 88, of Mansfield, died early Thursday morning, June 26, 2008 at Elmcroft of Ontario Assisted Living Center. Mr. Bucher was born February 24, 1920 in Mansfield, living all his life in the area. He was a WWII veteran, having served in Europe with the 3rd Army division. He was a wood pattern maker at Gorman Rupp Company and retired in 1982.
Surviving are his two sons, Dennis Bucher of Denver, Colorado, and Rick Bucher of Asheville, North Carolina; three grandchildren, Shawn, Ryan, and Erin; and two sisters, Jean McCelland, and Delee Them, both of Mansfield. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Martha L. Clever Bucher; his parents, Benjamin and Hazel Herron Bucher; two brothers, Gaylord and Robert Bucher; and sister, Janet McKinley.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2008 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Cloyd Kress. Military graveside services conducted by the Richland County Joint Veteran's Burial Detail will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
