Lillian Adams Mancill, 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 27, 2011 at Churchmans Village in Newark, DE.
Lillian was born on March 31, 1918 in Philadelphia, PA and spent most of her childhood and adult life in Philadelphia and Drexel Hill, PA.
In 1980, she moved to Newark, DE to be near her children and grandchildren. She worked at the University of Delaware from 1981 to 1996, finally retiring at the age of 78, for which she was very proud.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Roland A. Mancill, as well as her son Donald and her son Roland, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Gail Mattix and her husband John, daughter in law Barbara Mancill, four grandchildren, Randy Manogue and his wife Colleen, granddaughter Katie Lyn Manogue, Jeffrey Mancill and his wife Susan, Daniel Mancill and his wife Arlene, and three great-grandchildren. Lillian is also survived by four step grandchildren and two step great granddaughters.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the wonderful staff at Churchmans Village for their loving and compassionate care. Lillian could not have picked a more special 'family' with whom to spend her last six years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
