Born in New York, the son of Henry Switzer Van Fleet, and Esther Flandreau Van Fleet. One of 10 brothers and sisters, he lived in New York until he was at least 40. Sometime between 1910 and 1920 he moved to West Virginia, not clear exactly when. In 1920, he lived in Coal, in Harrison County, West Virginia. In 1930, he was listed as a roomer in Clarksburg, Harrison County, West Virginia. In West Virginia, he was employed as a typesetter. He was single when he passed away, and I have no record of any children.
Died at the Cokeley nursing home and was cremated at the Homewood Crematory in Pittsburgh, PA.
