Kent Reese Farnsworth Jr.

MARSHALL — Kent Reese Farnsworth Jr. was born May 15, 1959, in Paxton, Illinois. He was the son of the late Kent Reese Farnsworth Sr. and Jalna Baker. Kent left this life at his home in Marshall on Sunday, March 24, 2013.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Kent retired at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, with the rank of senior master sergeant in 1999. After retirement from the Air Force, he worked in the technology lab for General Cable.

Kent leaves his wife, Athena "Tina" Farnsworth of Marshall; four sons, Justin, Pedro, Jamar and Patrick; six daughters, Krissi, Morgan, Madison, Jamie, Angie and Susana; 13 grandchildren; nu­merous nieces and nephews; two sisters, Sherri Blackman of Canton, Texas, and Kim (Mike) Blake of Grand Saline, Texas; sister-in-law, Dawn (Charlie) Saucier of Mississippi; three brothers-in-law, Anthony Boyd of California, Greg (Ashla) Buchanan of Louisiana and Tarri (Leslie) Henderson of Arkansas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Maj. Dwayne T. Flatt, U.S. Air Force, (Ret.) and Betty Flatt of Jackson, Tennessee, who loved him like a son.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, followed by memorial services at 11 a.m. at Summit United Methodist Church, located at 1901 East End Blvd. N., in Marshall, Texas, with Dr. Randy Fitzgerald officiating. The Patriot Guard Riders will then escort family and friends with Kent's cremains to the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, La., for a 2:30 p.m. memorial service with military honors.
