Rev. Fred Hollingshead, age 74 of Trotwood, died Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital after a lingering illness.

Survived by his wife Mary Ellen; sons Joel and wife Judith of Rolling Hills, Calif., David and wife Melanie of ElCerrito, Calif; grandchildren Robyn, Todd, Christopher and Matthew; brothers Ned of Saxton, Pa and William of Baden, Pa; sisters Thelma Henning of Homestead, Pa., Geneva Eisenberg of Martinsburg, Pa., Ruth Dudding of Little River, S.C., Maxine Carmack of Ambridge, Pa and Sara Young of Hopewell, Pa., and several nieces and nephews.

He served 55 years as the pastor of the Church of the Brethren in 15 churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Michigan, Illinois and Florida, was twice Moderator of The District of Southern Ohio, directed several Church Youth Camps, had a national appointment as area Evangelism Counselor in Florida and recently completed 6 years as District Refugee Resettlement Coordinator, and was a representative of metropolitan Churches United, serving a term as Vice-President. He was a member of Trotwood church of the Brethren, where funeral services will be held 7 pm Sunday, Pastor Glenn Timmons officiating.

Friends may call at the church 1-5 pm Sunday. Graveside services will be held 10:30 am Monday at the Arlington Cemetery. If desired memorial contributions may be made to the Trotwood Church of the Brethren in Fred's memory to be used for Parish and World Ministries of the Denomination.
