HOULTON, LINCOLN and LEE – L. Nadine Crocker, 81, passed away Feb. 11, 2012, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born Feb. 6, 1931, at the Rice Farm in Millinocket, to Llewellyn P. and Margaret (Butler) Kenneson.
She attended schools in Millinocket and Lincoln and graduated from Lee Academy. She was married to Frederic N. Crocker of Lee. Nadine was a gifted artist, winning many awards at fairs and art displays throughout the state and was named Bangor Daily News "Artist of the Month" in 1997. She taught art at Lee Academy and at the Jefferson School, Lincoln, during the '80s and '90s. She was an avid reader and wrote short stories and poetry of her own. Nadine and Fred fostered 45 children throughout the years.
Nadine was predeceased by her parents; husband, Trooper Fred Crocker, Maine State Police, retired; brothers, Charles and Pvt. Emery Kenneson, who was killed in Korea in 1951; daughter, Margaret Bonnie O'Brien and husband, Billy; beloved grandson, Michael O'Brien whom she raised from infancy and his wife, Danielle.
Nadine's family would like to thank the staff at Gardiner Health Care Facility, Houlton, for their loving care through the last years of her life.
