CPL, US ARMY - KOREA

Herman "Doc" Horn Jr., a former Negro League player, died last Thursday. 'Doc' played for the Kansas City Monarchs from 1949 to 1954. Graveside services are today at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO.
Horn didn't always see eye to eye with the way the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum was run, but museum marketing director Bob Kendrick said he always respected Horn's opinions.
"I also respected his passion for the museum," Kendrick said. "I truly believe he was proud of the museum, proud of his place in the history."
Kendrick said Horn as a player "was a good-hitting outfielder."

Thank you for serving in the U.S. Army. All gave some, and some gave all; our freedom hasn't come free.
