Mrs. Kirby Belle Cheek, age 54, wife of I. E. Cheek, died Wednesday in the Municipal Hospital in Ennis of typhoid fever. Mrs. Cheek, formerly Kibby Belle Piland, was born near Ennis Nov 13, 1882, and has resided in that community all her life. She was married there in 1902 to I. E. Cheek, who with four sons survive, J. D. Cheek, Willie Cheek, Thurman Cheek, and Lois Cheek, all of whom reside near Ennis; also her mother, Mrs. Nancy Piland of Ennis, and two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Gage of Ennis and Mrs. Mary Edgar of Beckville, TX. She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Ennis. Interment will be made in Myrtle Cemetery. Services will be conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. J. Kirkland.
