Raymond Mitchell Hardin, Jr. went home to be with the Lord at 5:33 AM, Sunday, April 26, 2009 at Plaza Medical ICU after battling complications from colon cancer surgery on Feb. 11, 2009. He was born January 2nd, 1932 in Weatherford to Raymond Mitchell Hardin, Sr. and Lucille Hardin Miller, who preceded him death, as well as a son, Raymond Mitchell Hardin III, sister Louvelle, Billie Haynes and brothers-in-law, Robert Haynes and John Qualls. He is a graduate of Weatherford High School Class of 1950.
Raymond devoted fifty four years of service to the Lord by serving as Minister of Music in many Southern Baptist Churches in Texas and Oklahoma. He spent sixteen years at Center Point Baptist Church and nearly twelve years at Soda Springs Baptist Church. He helped establish New Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Bob Harper. He worked for both, Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel and White's Funeral Home plus singing for many funerals.
Survivors: Wife of 52 years, Myrtle Lois; son, Paul Hardin; five grandchildren; a great-grandson; one sister; and host of other relatives and friends.
