Mrs. W. F. Peterson of Caney,
the mother of Mrs. P. E. Axer,409
East Eighth street, this city, died
early today in a hospital at Win-
field, where she went to visit a son,
Curtis Peterson, about a month ago.
Mrs. Peterson was well known
here, having visited in the City of-
ten; She was 76 years old. Had
she lived until Decomber 19: she
I would have been married to Mr.
Peterson sixty years. Cambridge,
Ill., was her birthplace.
The husband and all members of
the immediate family were at the
bedside when she passed away.
Mrs. Axer and Mr. Axer's sister,
Mrs. Martin Pfister, and husband,
drove to Winfield a week ago last
Friday when word of Mrs. Peter-
son's illness was received.
The body will arrive at Caney
tomorrow morning and the funer-
al will be conducted at Caney, at
2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
Burial will be at Caney, Mrs. Pe-
terson was long a member of the
Methodist Episcopal church.
Surviving with the husband, the
daughter here and the son at Win-
field are two other sons, Clate Pe-
terson of Coffeyvilla and James
Peterson of Shidler, Okla., and an-
other daughter, Mrs. Victoria
Walton of Caney.
Uremic poisoning was the cause
of death. Mrs. Peterson had been
a patient in St. Mary's hospital at
Winfield nine days.
