Vernon Ashley, 88, of Hot Springs passed away, Monday, August 26, 2013. He was born September 27, 1924 in Hot Springs to the late Henry & Sadie Mae Helms Ashley. He was a WWII & Korea war veteran; retired from Reynolds life member of VFW Post 4546 and was of Pentecostal faith.
He was predeceased by his parents; brother, Ralph Ashley; sisters, Vida Widener, Argie Skillman and daughter, Teresa Ashley.
Survivors include his children; Clifford Ashley, Diane Donda, Jane Kelley, Doyle Ashley, Leon Ashley, Gale Hudson, Michael Ashley and Patrick Ashley; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; many nieces, nephews, caregiver and good family friend Pip Anderson.
Graveside service will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 1st at Fouche Loupe Cemetery with Brother Van Glidewell officiating.
Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 Saturday at Hot Springs Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Pip Anderson, Shannon Smith, Kirk Burchfield, Adam Ashley, Cliffy Ashley and Chase Lillard.
Honorary Pallbearers are Steven Bunch, Paul Henry Williams, Mark Miller, Al Skillman and Johnny Todd.
