Velvie H. Rice, 91, of Drummonds, Tennessee, formerly of Sharp, passed away Thursday, February 14, 2008, at Covington Manor Nursing Home, in Covington, Tennessee. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Saturday, February 23, at Sharp Pentecostal Church in Sharp, with funeral services beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Campbell Creek Cemetery. She attended Poplar Grove Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Rice, the widow of James Harrison Rice, leaves a daughter and her husband, Georgene and Joe Bridges of Drummonds, Tennesee; a son, Glendon Rice of Sharp; Three grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Monroe and Delia Hodges, and two sisters, Elma Rice and Renie Rice. Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville is in charge of arrangements.
