Mrs. Catherine Lorraine Asbury, age 84, of 612 W St. Mary's Rd, Sterling, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 29, 1993, at Coventry Village in Sterling. Mrs. Asbury was born on July 2, 1909 in Neelys Landing, Mo., the daughter of Emory and Emma Clingingsmith McCain. She was united in marriage to William T Asbury on May 14, 1929 in Belleview, Illinois. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1981. They had been married for fifty two years. She is survived by six daughters, Viola (Charles) Planthaber, Wanda (Gordon) Miller, and Jean (Willard) Smith, all of Sterling, Il., Shirley Ellis and Reba (Louis) Lindstrom both of Morrison, Il. Hazel (Hugh) Browning of Prophetstown, Il, seven sons, William C Asbury, Walter L Asbury, Gordon Asbury, Kenneth Asbury and Norman Asbury, all of Sterling, Il, Herbert Asbury of Dixon, Il, and Donald Asbury of Rockford, Il., forty three grandchildren, forty five great grandchildren, and seven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son. A memorial has been established in her memory.
