Pfc. Chase A. Edwards of Lake Charles, La., joined the Corps after graduating from Barbe High School in Lake Charles, La., and was a native of and life resident of Lake Charles. After graduating, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp on May 24, 2005. He is the son of Melody L. Neil Hartwell and her husband Dennis, Andrew F. Edwards, Jr., sister, Christin Edwards; and brother, Lyndon Hartwell. He was killed while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq at age 19.
