Beulah M. Cross
It appears much of the early information in this work comes from The History of Buckland, 1779-1935 by Fanny Shaw Kendrick. This church history by Cross is not dated, however, we learn from the context of this work that it was likely written in 1985 in celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the church's founding in 1785:

On October 15, 1794, Rev Josiah Spaulding was called as first minister [of the First Congregational Church of Buckland commonly known as Mary Lyon Church]. He stayed 28 years during which time four revivals were held. When he came, the church numbered only 53 members. The greatest revival was the Clary one, named after Captain Clary of Conway, who with Deacon Nash promoted it, with the plan of two brethren visiting each house, conversing and praying with its occupants. Ninety-nine people joined. He [Spaulding] wrote a book on universalism, published in 1805, containing refutation of that doctrine. It was on the list for recommended reading for Andover Newton Theological students. When he died in May 1823, the church had received 228 people.
