Paul O. ("Bud") Adams, age 86, of Mansfield, formerly of Bellflower, Mayview and Chicago, died at 6:03 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.

Mr. Adams was born Feb. 2, 1921 in Proctor, a son of Paul O. and A. Yvette Ellis Adams. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.

Surviving are one brother, Gordon Adams and two sisters, Gloria Jane Kersten and Patricia Offenberg.

Mr. Adams was a 1939 graduate of Bellflower High School, and he attended the University of Illinois. In 1942, he entered the United States Marine Corps, serving in the 3rd Division 9th Marines Headquarters and Services. He was in the South Pacific at Bougainville and Guadalcanal, Guam. He was honorably discharged in 1946. He farmed in the Mayview area and was a tool and die maker in the Chicago area until retiring in 1991.

He was a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Monticello, American Legion Post 101 and VFW Post 5346, both in Monticello.
