Professional Football Player. He played 16 seasons in the National Football League, where he was a defensive standout for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Seattle Seahawks and Green Bay Packers. In 1976 he was a member of the Steelers team that defeated the Dallas Cowboys 21 to 17 in Super Bowl X. He was acquired by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1976 expansion draft where he spent the next ten seasons before finishing his playing career with the Green Bay Packers in 1990. He was a member of the Seattle Seahawk coaching staff from 1992 to 1998, and was inducted as a player into the Seattle Seahawk's prestigious "Ring of Honor" in 1992. He was a 1984 All-Pro selection for the Seahawks and he remains the current holder of the all time Seattle career interception record. He played his collegiate football at the University of Michigan where he earned All-American and All-Big Ten conference honors as well as being named to the school's All-Century team. He was the defensive secondary coach at Texas Tech University when he passed away, having served as an assistant coach since 2001. (bio by: Nils M. Solsvik Jr.)
