Frances W. Stines, 82, of Helena passed away Sunday evening Sept. 25, 2011, at her home. Frances was born in Red Lodge Jan. 20, 1929, to Joseph and Fanny (Ferry) Sanderson. She attended schools in Helena and at the age of 12 they moved to Santa Ana, Calif. Frances graduated from high school. She worked as a secretary for Motorola and Admiral Television Manufacturing. Frances and Jim Stinson were married in the early 1950s. Three children were born to this marriage, Craig, Mark and Scot. They later divorced.

Frances and L.A. Stines were married June 14, 1975, in Norwalk, Calif. They made their home in Downey, Calif., prior to retirement and moving back to Montana in 1994.

Frances, while living in California, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and sailing in the ocean. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Craig and Mark Stinson; siblings, Rita Sanderson, Mary Ellen McGrew, and Michael Sanderson. She is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, L.A. of Helena; her son, Scot Stinson of Aberdeen, Wash.; granddaughters, Jennifer Comerico and Heather Walker; and two great-grandchildren, Dominick and Mia Comerico.

Come join Frances' family and friends in celebrating her life 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, at Anderson Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home.
