Funeral services for Clyde Roy Saunders, 63, of Cabell Heights, will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Lee Fullmer officiating.

Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

He died at 11:05 p.m. Monday in a local hospital after a long illness.

Born Aug. 1, 1910 at Stanaford, he was a son of the late Walter and Jennie Wright Saunders and was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle Mae Cook Saunders, in 1964.

A retired miner, he last worked in 1968.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Virginia Collins and Mrs. Helen McFarland, both of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Mary Reeves and Mrs. Martha Horner, both of Aberdeen, Md., and Mrs. Betty Walters of Kansas City, Mo.; a sister, Gladys Saunders of Cabell Heights.

Eight sons, Wilmer of Elkton, Md., Delmar and David, both of Kansas City, Mo., Virgil of Kansas City, Kan., Harold of Maricopa, Ariz., John of Cincinnati, Ohio, Charles of Beckley, and Kenneth of Springfield, Mo.; three brothers, Artie of Cabell Heights, James of Texas, and Jack of Roanoke, Va.; 40 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday.
