Roland Togni Branch, the son of Kenneth M. and Louise (Togni) Branch, of Hanford, was killed at the Tonopah, Nevada, Army Air Field in May, 1944. Cadet Branch entered the service in July, 1942. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Army Air Forces in April, 1944, after completing bombardier training at the Carlsbad, New Mexico, Army Air Field.

RITES ARE SET FOR AIR CRASH VICTIM
HANFORD -- Funeral services for Lieutenant Roland Branch, 22, who died Friday of injuries suffered in an airplane crash near Tonopah, Nevada, will be held here tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock in the Sullivan Mortuary.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth M. Branch, Hanford; his grandmothers, Mrs. Michael Togni, Visalia and Mrs. Mary Branch, San Francisco; two aunts, Mrs. Joseph Shafer, Visalia, and Mrs. Charles Stafford, Novato; two uncles, Herbert Togni and Charles Togni, Visalia.
Military rites will follow in Visalia Cemetery.
Note - Roland Branch's father opened a new stationery store in Hanford in March, 1934. The store building at 209 N. Irwin Street was leased by Kenneth M. Branch, who for years was associated with the Togni-Branch stationery store in Visalia, and Charles R. Chambers, formerly connected with the same store. The Hanford store was known as Branch & Chambers.
