Nathan O.Z. Carter, the son of James Talbert Carter of Hanford, was in the Armed Forces several months before the war with Japan began, having joined the colors in March, 1941. He was with the infantry forces as a private first class. The soldier met death on Luzon, P.I., in February, 1945.
