Edmond Lionel Cantin, who was attached to the Loyal Edmonton regiment of the Canadian Army, was killed at Cesena, Italy, in October, 1944. He was the son of Mrs. Corrine Cantin of Hanford. Cantin, who was a corporal at the time of his death, entered the service in February, 1943. He was a native of Canada.

Mrs. Corrine Cantin of 403 East Tenth Street has received a telegram from the Canadian War Department in Ottawa, Canada, informing her that her son, Lionel Cantin of the Canadian infantry, was killed in action on October 25th.
Cantin was formerly a paratrooper in the Canadian Army and then joined the infantry. He had been in Italy and the European theater with combat troops.
He was graduated from the Hanford Union High School with the class of 1932 and went to Alberta, Canada, where he was employed at mining.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Harvey and Rudy Cantin.
