Frederick "Fritz" Pollock, 82, of Bucyrus, died Monday, January 2, 2011 at Altercare of Bucyrus.

He was born April 8, 1928 in Crawford County to the late Labeon and Velda (Gilliland) Pollock. Fritz graduated from Holmes-Liberty High School in 1946. He worked briefly at Swan Rubber before working 30 years at The Timken Co., retiring in 1983. Since retirement, he worked for Waycraft Industries, taking care of parks and did small engine repair from his home.

Fritz married the former Lena Sipe on July 30, 1949. She survives along with four children, Alan (Dolly) Pollock, Debby (Ed) Muchow, both of Bucyrus, Christine (David) Ruth of Biloxi, Miss. and Frederick (Vonda) Pollock of Waynesboro, Penn.; 15 grandchildren; and 28 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Luther and Willard Pollock, twin brother, Edward who died in infancy; sisters, Dorothy Musser, Fern Bowser, Florence Pollock and Donna Hershiser; son-in-law, Edward Diebler and two great grandchildren.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and sang in the choir. He was previously a member of U.C.T., Bucyrus Lions Club, the Ohio Defense Corps, and served as a Boy Scout leader.

Fritz was passionate about painting, having created over 1000 works of art in his lifetime. He loved to travel and spend time with the Timken Camping Club.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, January 5 at Wise Funeral Service where the funeral will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastors Ken and Stephen Lance officiating. Burial will follow in Oceola Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or Fairway-Waycraft through the funeral home.
