Sam was born in Detroit, Michigan to Horace and Dorothy Amos. He was the eldest child, and was the husband of Kim Knowland Amos. He had three children: Missi, Adam, and Katie. Brothers and Sister, Gerald Amos, Randy Amos, and Barbara Baker .

He was a family man, cheerful, and hard working. He made people laugh all the time.

Sam was a resident of Macon, Georgia most of his life, and a devout Christian. He was very involved in church activities.

There was nothing that Sam could not build or repair.

Sam Amos was full of life right up till the end. He did not know the meaning of "take it easy" He was always on the go! He died from a massive , sudden heart attack .

Sam's wife told me that the morning of the day he died, he said:
"People really need to make sure their hearts are right, because we just don't ever know..."

Sam was taken to the cemetery in a 1937 hearse, a classy way for a good guy to take his last ride.
