Ebenezer Mower was the son of Jonathan & Elizabeth (Bemis) Mower. He followed his brothers to Greene, Maine, as one of the pioneer settlers in town. He possessed a sturdy, vigorous constitution and was able to cope with the stern realities of pioneer life in a manner bound to succeed. He was eminent for piety, an element handed down in the family to a marked degree. He married first Lucretia Ward of Greene, who died July 12, 1793; married second Jane Robinson of Greene, who died Oct. 3, 1834, age 61. Lived in a log cabin with first wife; and in his framed house after second marriage. He had 12 children (2 by first wife, 10 by second).
