Raymond was single with no dependents, living in St. Joseph County, Indiana, working as a machinist, and a high school graduate when he was drafted into the Army on 26 Mar 1942 at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana. He served during campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, and Holland, where he was killed in action during Operation Market Garden. Member of B Company, 325th Glider Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. Serial #35111024.

Sgt Dentino served in the same company as my father. They were both sergeants, and probably knew each other. My thanks to them and all others who served in Company B, 325th Glider Infantry.
