Woots Chaffins, age 86, died Thursday, January 12, 2006, at the Hazard ARMC, Hazard, Kentucky. He was born in Floyd County, Kentucky on April 1, 1919, the son of Sim Kenton and Minnie Coburn Chaffins. He was preceded in death by his wife: Betty Lee; one son: Jimmy. He is survived by four sons: Shelby Gene (Alfie) Chaffins, Kenton (Billie Joan) Chaffins, Mark (Mary) Chaffins and Johnny (Debbie) Chaffins; six daughters: Minnie (Garland) Conley, Pat (John) Carter, Carolyn Howard, Katherine (Ricky) Smith, Wyhella (Keith) Combs, and Grace Chaffins; one brother: Kelly Chaffins; two sisters: Helen Moore and Maxine Martin; 22 grandchildren, host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Burial followed at the Green Bolen Cemetery, Softshell, Kentucky.
