The funeral for Mrs. Merle Crispin, Lincoln, was Friday at 2:30 p.m., from the United Methodist Church, Webber. She died Wednesday in Bryan Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 2 days.
The daughter of James Alexander and Mabel Ellen Fulcomer Carpenter she was born on a farm near Formoso in Jewell County, Kansas, Sept. 19, 1913.
She was raised on the farm and attended country schools in the area. She attended and graduated from Mankato High School with the class of 1932.
Sept. 1, 1937, she was united in marriage to Merle W. Crispin in Mankato. This union was blessed with three children, Sandra, Dennis and Ronnie.
They lived and farmed in the communities of Superior, Juniata and Lincoln. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active throughout her life in church organizations. Mrs. Crispin had served as 4-H leader and was a member of the National Grange Organization.
She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Merle on May 30, 1982, and a sister, Josephine Ritz, in 1970.
Survivors include her mother, Mabel Carpenter, Mankato; her children, Mrs. Michael McDonald (Sandra) of Beaver Creek, Ohio, Dennis of Lincoln and Ronnie of Gillette, Wyo.; three sisters, Mrs. Ernest Vandous (Helen) of Belleville, and Mrs. Richard Whelchel (Opal) and Vivian Moon, Mankato; a brother, Lloyd Carpenter, Wichita; four grandchildren, Cheryl Crispin and Kristen, Kerry and Mark McDonald; and many other relatives.
The Rev. Elton Hunter officiated at the services. Burial was in the Webber Cemetery. The Megrue-Price Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
